+$0.50 toward allowance

Not a baby app

Kids 6 to 12 get a look they’re proud of. Each kid picks their own colour, and more worlds are coming.

Pictures, not paragraphs

Every step is a big picture to tap. One thing at a time, so starting is easier.

Wins they can feel

Progress lands on every tap, and finished routines count toward the allowance you set.

Made by a dad, with love

I went looking for an app for my 7-year-old, who has a provisional ADHD diagnosis. I couldn’t find anything he’d be excited to use.

The routine apps I found were either built for adults, built for toddlers, or felt like homework with a sticker on top. He didn’t need another chart. He needed something that felt like his: cool enough that he wanted to open it, clear enough that he could do it himself.

So I built it. Kickstand is meant to be a win for kids, who get to feel capable and proud, and a win for parents, who get to stop being the reminder.

Every part of the day

Structure for the whole day, not just the morning rush.

  • Mornings

Up, dressed, fed and out the door, one picture at a time.

  • After school

Unpack, snack, homework. The hard-to-start stuff gets a clear first step.

  • Chores

Feed the dog, tidy the room, help with dinner. Their jobs, on their list.

  • Practice and habits

Reading, piano, a few minutes outside. Small things, done often.

  • Bedtime

Bath, teeth, books, lights out. A wind-down they can follow.

  • One-offs

Picture day, a field trip, a dentist visit. Add it to just that day.

Built for kids who find routines hard

ADHD-friendly by design, not as an afterthought.

Lots of kids, especially kids with ADHD, know what to do and still can’t get started, lose the thread halfway, or melt down at transitions. Kickstand is the outside structure that helps them do it themselves.

  • Out of their head, onto the screen

The list lives where they can see it, so they don’t have to hold it in working memory or wait for you to repeat it.

  • One step at a time

The next step is always lit. Starting is the hard part, so the first move is obvious.

  • Wins right away

Every tap lands with a little progress, and finished routines count toward their allowance. Payoff now, not someday.

  • No shame, no streak guilt

A missed step isn’t a failure and a hard day doesn’t break anything. Tomorrow is just a new day.

  • Theirs, not yours

Their own screen, their own colour, a look they’re proud of. Kids work harder at things that feel like theirs.

  • Support that steps back

As a routine sticks, trim the steps and check in less. The goal is a kid who needs it less over time.

Kickstand is a routine tool, not a medical treatment.

How it works

One minute to set up. Calmer days after that.

  1. 1

    Pick a starter routine

Mornings, after school and bedtime are one tap each. Change any step, or tell your AI assistant what you want and let it set things up.

  2. 2

    Hand them the phone

Every step is a big picture they can tap, so they follow it without you reading the list out loud again.

  3. 3

    They finish. You find out.

Each finished routine counts toward their allowance, and you get one quiet note when the list is done.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers

What ages is Kickstand for?

Kids about 6 to 12. Steps are pictures first, so kids who are still learning to read can follow along, and the look is built for kids who have outgrown sticker charts and cute-pet apps.

Is it for kids with ADHD?

It's made for any kid who finds routines hard, including kids with ADHD: big pictures, one step at a time, and no shame for a missed day. It's a routine tool, not a treatment.

How does allowance work?

You decide what each finished routine is worth. Kickstand keeps the running total for your kid to see, and you pay it out however you already do.

Does my kid need their own phone?

No. Use a shared family tablet or an old phone in child mode. Parent tools stay behind a PIN.

Are there ads? What about my kid’s data?

Never any ads. We collect only what the app needs to run your family's routines, and we never sell it.

When can I get it?

Kickstand is coming to iPhone, iPad and Android. Join early access and we will send one email when it is ready.
